This project required a careful balance between preserving the existing heritage structure and meeting contemporary fire safety standards. The project focused on implementing the fire protection concept while respecting and integrating the building's historic fabric. The planning process was based on a comprehensive 3D survey of the existing building, resulting in a complete BIM model developed in Revit. All planning phases were carried out within the BIM environment, providing an accurate digital representation of the complex existing structure and supporting informed decision-making throughout the project. A shared coordination model enabled close collaboration between all disciplines, allowing clashes to be identified at an early stage and construction sequencing to be coordinated efficiently using Navisworks. Cost estimates and tender documentation were generated directly from the model data, improving accuracy, consistency and change management across the entire planning process.
