Frankfurt am Main Hauptbahnhof

Facts

The main railway station in Frankfurt a.M., opened in 1888, was to be developed to make it safer and, improve the quality and comfort for passengers.

To achieve this, the so-called B-level under the station square and, the northern part and entrance hall of the heritage-listed main station building, are to be redesigned and reconfigured in order to accommodate the growing flow of passengers. At the same time, the public circulation areas will be upgraded to a high standard. The historic building fabric in the ticket hall and on the cross platform will be exposed, and the dated South Wing 1990s refurbishment removed, restoring a harmonious appearance.

This will create an attractive entrance to the city that is befitting of Frankfurt's importance.
